Day Trip to Kennebunkport Maine

Quaint Port Makes an Excellent Day Trip

Kennebunkport is a quick road trip up I-95 North from The Andovers.

In under two hours, you arrive at this quaint, coastal town in Southern Maine. Where you can walk barefoot through the soft sands of the miles-long Goose Rocks Beach to dip your toes into the Atlantic.

Or you could shop and dine…

Lots of unique shops, galleries (like Abacus shown above) and great places to eat in this quaint port and in neighboring Kennnebunk. Below are a few from my last trip.

Sea Love Candles & Company

Clean-burning Scented Candles & More!

I love the clean, white-on-white, nautical look of Sea Love Candles & Company.

You may know this shop from Instagram, where it is super-popular for its behind-the-scene pics, new scents, and sales.

The shop is known for its premium 100-percent, coconut-soy-wax-blend, clean-burning candles. My favorite is Sea Salt — a fragrant blend of sea salt, coastal jasmine, and freesia. The shop features an enticing fragrance menu of fresh, earthy, citrus, and botanical scents from which to choose.

Be sure to grab a seat at the candle bar and boutique, where you can pour your own scented candle.

The Clam Shack

Serving the freshest fried seafood and Maine lobster since 1968.

The Clam Schack Kennebunkport Maine

Perched on the bridge in Kennebunkport, The Clam Shack delivers a nostalgic taste of Maine. All dishes are take-away — the menu includes expertly fried fish, chowder, burgers, hot dogs, and more. And guests dine al fresco on Dock Square with an ocean view and salty breeze.

The must-try is the lobster roll — a heaping portion of fresh-from-the-Atlantic lobster meat, mixed with mayonnaise, butter, lemon, and served on The Clam Shack’s signature Reilly roll.

50 Local features a locally sourced menu. It changes daily and relies heavily on the area’s farms and fisheries. Executive Chef Tyler Laroche puts an American take on many of the traditional dishes offered in French bistros, while ensuring each dish delivers pure, local ingredients to your table.

Expect delicious in-season meals, hand-made pasta, the freshest seafood, a friendly neighborhood bar, and casual atmosphere.
