Have a Heart Bracelets

Trunk Show & Fundraiser Support Melmark New England

Native Sun celebrated the opening of its new Downtown Andover location with a trunk show and fundraiser. And the trunk show featured North Andover resident and Jewelry Designer Rachel Brenman. Available for sale were Rachel’s Have a Heart for Melmark Bracelets. She donates all proceeds from their sale to Melmark New England.

Trunk Show Featured North Andover Jewelry Designer

Native Sun owner Lisa Darke welcomed locals to her fashion boutique’s new Downtown Andover location.  The trunk show included a wide selection of pieces from Jewelry Designer Rachel Brenman, who owns Bella Dori Jewelry.

Rachel has long been a supporter of Melmark New England. And it featured her Have a Heart for Melmark Bracelet, with 100 percent of sales proceeds going to Melmark’s adult programs.

Rachel named Bella Dori Jewelry after her daughter Bella, who is on the autism spectrum. And Bella attends Melmark New England. The Andover-based special-education school serves children and adults with autism-spectrum disorders.

Because Bella has a positive experience at Melmark, Rachel wants to give back. So she designed the Have a Heart for Melmark Bracelet Collection to benefit Melmark.

The Collection includes three double-wrap bracelet designs. And they all include an extender to transform the bracelet into a necklace.

Bracelet Proceeds Support Adult Programs at Melmark

Melmark New England’s Director of Advancement, Ellen M. Kallman, attended the event. And she spoke about the desparate needs for funds to support adult programs at the special education school.

Ellen explained that the school receives state funding for services for children. However, as they age out of the system, the financial support disappears. And she talked of the difficulties this places on students and families.  Specifically, the hardship that results as students are forced to transition to a life without Melmark. And they stop getting the services and social programs that had helped them to thrive.

One of Ellen’s roles is to fundraise for the school.  Melmark’s adult residential programs need financial support. Because the cost per individual is hundreds of thousands of dollars. If you would like to purchase a Have a Heart for Melmark Bracelet, you can get more information on Melmark’s website. Or by contacting Ellen at 978.654.4371 or by email.
